   Bio: Jeff Roberts

Jeff Roberts is a 13-year expert in the field of website usability, marketing effectiveness, and creative direction.

Owner of Usability consulting practice Greenjar.com (and sister site RudeUsability.com), Jeff reaches out nationwide to lead short and long-term engagements to improve website conversion and perception.  Highlights include:  360i, Web.com, NBC, Martha Stewart, Saks Fifth Avenue, SearchIgnite, Opera Atlanta Nightclub, Kudzu Interactive, IncNow.com, ResumeLogic, Vedior North America and the ThinkJobs network of sites - each with measurable results and noteworthy impact.

In 2008, Jeff joined Atlanta Beltline Partnership and Atlanta Beltline, Inc. as a consultant tasked with supercharging the effectiveness of the Beltline.org website. The BeltLine initiative is the largest urban renewal project in the United States – a $3 billion / 25-year project which is slated to reinvent 22 miles of abandoned rail corridors throughout Atlanta metro, bolstering economic development including parks, trails and transit throughout Atlanta. The Beltline.org website is evolving as the key communication channel for the initiative as a leader in urban development in the United States, as well as setting a model for connecting a community via the web for the increasingly popular “green” urban development around the globe.

As Director of Usability at 360i, Jeff oversaw site usability/effectiveness for a range of products and websites designed to achieve measurable results. Serving as strategic digital advisor to large “Top 20” brand marketers, 360i has been named one of AdAge’s “Hottest Independent Digital Agencies Around”.  Headquartered in NYC with offices in Atlanta and San Francisco, 360i’s assets include a full suite of Search Engine Marketing solutions, including Search Management software platform SearchIgnite.

One highlight from Jeff’s accomplishments was his years at CareerBuilder.com. Jeff played a critical role in driving CareerBuilder.com into the position as the clear leader in the job search industry.  The job search tool emerged from third place to the number one market leader on all counts.  Other CareerBuilder.com high points included catapulting the key website data points (both performance and efficiency) by 300%.  Landmarks include re-designing the massive website's navigation, home pages, search engine, e-commerce platform and much more.

Key to the growth of CareerBuilder was proliferating success throughout the global job network, which meant leading integration of CareerBuilder.com into America Online (AOL), MSN, and the nation’s 420 largest newspaper websites.  As a result of this effort, these job portals (which include CNN, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, L.A. Times and others) were critical to CareerBuilder.com successfully achieving consistent usability and branding across the internet.  Jeff's primary goal was achieving consistent usability across all of these venues, but also to ensure that the user interfaces were the best-performing job search tools available on the internet today.  In February 2005, Jeff guided the creative development of all online components for the CareerBuilder.com SuperBowl promotional blitz, with exposure to over 150 MM viewers, and the online components debuted with tremendous success.

At the core of Jeff’s drive is the ability to take something that "needs a lot of work" and iteratively convert it into something stellar, as each of his undertakings to date have proven to be true.

Known as an expert in the industry, the sciences of usability, analytics, marketing effectiveness and creative direction are all firmly in his grasp.
